Invest Barbados Goals and Objectives For Midem 2010
Our strategic plan is to approach MIDEM 2010 as a private/public sector initiative to build international competitiveness in the local music industry and to position Barbados as a desirable location providing a range of business and wealth management solutions to the entertainment sector. As a catalyst organisation, Invest Barbados will play the role of facilitator and encourage the individuals and companies in the sector to develop their businesses for export, promotion and investment in the global music market.
The primary objectives of Invest Barbados in supporting this delegation would be to:
- Provide local music industry practitioners with an opportunity to network with global counterparts, senior music label executives and music industry specialists with a view to building strategic alliances which could result in publishing, distribution, recording and performing/touring opportunities;
- Facilitate the earning of foreign exchange through direct sales and negotiated contracts for Barbadian services;
- Attract international business and joint ventures by raising the profile of Barbados in the international market as an excellent recording location with professional facilities, as well as a source for high quality music production services and artiste management services;
- Create promotional opportunities, increase visibility and gain international exposure for indigenous professionals, and improve Barbados’ global market reach;
- Build the infrastructure necessary to promote growth for local service providers in the music sector and for Barbados’ music industry in general.
- Present Barbados’ entire value proposition in international business to a captive audience of high net worth individuals connected to the entertainment industry.

We expect that this will be able to spark enlightening conversations which might happen on or off the site as all articles and content can be easily shared. We have also set up @BimAtMusicExpos twitter account to allow for micro blogging and quick dissemination of information or updates.
